A second opinion on any coin, in seconds.

Photograph both sides of a coin and get a grade on the 70-point scale with an honest error range, from a model trained on more than 650,000 certified coins. It reads wear, luster and surfaces the way a grader does, with no assumptions about what the coin is, and it tells you how sure it is.

Browsing eBay or Heritage? The extension badges coin photos with a grade range as you scroll.

What it does

Estimates the grade from the coin's surfaces alone, with no assumptions about the coin type, and reports a full probability distribution across the grading scale, not just one number. Trained on US coins; world coins and tokens grade less reliably, and ancients are outside its experience. How accurate it is, measured on coins it never trained on.

What it doesn't

It is not a certification and it does not appraise value. Problem coins (cleaned, damaged, whizzed) are graded as if they were not, for now. In mint state, human graders disagree with each other about one time in ten; expect the model to be about as consistent.

Photos that work

One coin per photo, filling most of the frame, on a plain dark background, in focus, without glare. Photos that can't be graded are rejected before a credit is spent.
